Why the dates differ
Karthigai Deepam is observed on the day the moon is in the Krittika nakshatra during the Tamil solar month of Karthigai. Nakshatras and tithis don’t line up neatly with calendar days, so different panchangams can reach different answers. It depends on which evening they take the nakshatra to prevail, and whether they tie the festival to the full moon (Pournami).
In 2027 the full-moon tithi falls on 12–13 December (see the Pournami calendar), while our calculation puts the moon in Krittika at dusk on 11 December. Either reading is defensible, so only the temple’s announcement will settle it.
