About this guide
ArunachalamTemple.org is an independent, non-commercial guide for pilgrims to Tiruvannamalai. It is not run by the temple or the HR&CE Department.
Why this site exists
Pilgrims planning a visit to Tiruvannamalai often find the practical details scattered: timings, the next full moon, the Girivalam route, how to get there, where to stay. We bring them together in one clear, fast, mobile-friendly guide, in English, with core pages in Tamil and Telugu.
Independent, not official
This is not the official website of Arulmigu Arunachaleswarar Temple, which is administered by the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department, Government of Tamil Nadu. For tickets, sevas, prasadam, donations and announcements, use the official temple website. We don’t collect money or sell tickets on the temple’s behalf. See the disclaimer.
How we work
- Sources first: official temple and government sources, then institutions, reference works and published calendars. See Sources and methods.
- Tradition and history kept apart, and religious beliefs attributed respectfully.
- Dates labelled by how sure we are, with conflicts shown openly.
- Updated regularly, with a “Last updated” date on every page.
The full standards are in our editorial policy.
Tools we built
- The pilgrim dashboard: what’s happening today and what’s next.
- The Girivalam calculator and route map.
- The Pournami calendar, calculated for Indian Standard Time.
- The distance calculator.
