Three days in Tiruvannamalai

With three days you can take Girivalam at an unhurried pace, spend a morning on the hill at the Ramana sites, and add a day trip to one of the places the district administration lists. This is a suggestion to adapt to the temple timings and the season.

Day 1: arrive, darshan, rest

  • Arrive and check in. See where to stay.
  • Evening darshan at Arunachaleswarar Temple, then walk the complex slowly: the thousand-pillared hall and the Pathala Lingam. See architecture.
  • An early night before a dawn start.

Day 2: Girivalam and the Ramana sites
